RICHARD WEISS

PhD  (in-progress)

Richard began his PhD work in our lab in the summer of 2010.  His dissertation research is focused on the geochemistry of seafloor lavas from the western Aleutians, with an emphasis on their pre-eruptive water contents and the pressure and temperatures of melt storage.  Richards research will also address the question of oxygen fugacity of Aleutian magma genesis, and its relationship to pre-eruptive water contents.

Richard is supported on a graduate research fellowship in the university’s Electron Microscopy Center, where he is charge of analytical work on our electron microprobe.  Richard is also partially supported on a doctoral fellowship from the Office of the Provost.

Richard graduated in 2010 from the University of Florid where he was an Honors College students.
