PhD (2008)

MS (2003)

Jason’s PhD research focussed on understanding subduction magmatic processes through studies of ultramafic xenoliths and primitive (high Mg#) lavas from Kamchatka.  Jason published papers from his dissertation in G-Cubed (2007) and in Contributions to Mineralogy and Petrology (2010).  Jason also published a paper from his MS research in the Journal of Petrology (2006).

Jason is pictured here in 2003, standing on the pumice flow of the historic 1964 eruption of Shiveluch Volcano.  In the background (view to the south) is Klyuchevskoy Volcano (left) and Ushkovsky Volcanoe (right).  Jason also did field work on Little Sikin Volcano and Buldir Volcano (the western-most emergent volcano in the Aleutians) during the course of his MS and PhD research in our lab.

Jason received his BS degree from the Bowling Green State University.  He was the captain of the varsity soccer team there in his senior year.  Jason is currently employed by the Exxon-Mobil Corporation.  He resides with his wife Tiffany in Houston, Texas.
