At USC, I used the trace element and radiogenic isotope geochemistry of marine sediments from the North Scotia Ridge to help determine the timing of opening of Drake Passage.

Alex participated in the Semester at Sea program, which took him across fascinating parts of the North Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea, including Norway, Russia, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Egypt, Greece, and Croatia.
Alex has begun the M.S. program at the University of Georgia, where he is working on a tectonics project in the northern Andes with Jim Wright.
